I’m Britt-Marie Tidemand, a contemporary artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden. My passion lies in creating paintings that are not only seen but felt — pieces that stir emotion and invite reflection. Through oil and acrylic, I explore the dialogue between color, texture, and imagination to bring both harmony and movement into a room.
Art has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to exhibit my work in Sweden and internationally — from Agora Gallery in New York and the Venice Biennale to exhibitions and art fairs across Scandinavia, England, France, Italy, as well as a world-wide digital solo exhibition.
My paintings often shift between figurative and abstract expression, where human and animal shapes merge into dreamlike sceneries. Each piece invites the viewer to interpret their own story, creating a personal connection beyond words.
I primarily work with oil and acrylic on canvas, blending traditional craftsmanship with experimental approaches. Occasionally, I integrate mixed media elements such as sand, fabric, or texture paste to add depth and tactile quality.
My artworks range from small, intimate pieces to large-scale works suitable for homes, galleries, or corporate spaces — always handmade and unique.
